Nancy is the author of ten picture book biographies. Her books have earned starred reviews from School Library Journal and Kirkus, been selected for Junior Library Guild and have won or been finalists in international, national and state awards: Sakura Medal Finalist, Best Picture Book Finalist by World Magazine, Books for a Global Society Notable, Ezra Jack Keats Award Finalist, Sydney Taylor Book Award Notable, South Asia Book Award, Social Studies Notables, California Reading Association Silver Eurekas, Bank Street Best Children's Books, Anne Izard Storytellers' Choice Award, Northern Lights Book Awards, Mighty Girl Books, Texas 2X2 and Topaz lists, Monarch Award Master List, Louisiana Young Readers Choice Awards list, Charter Book Awards list, Kennebec Valley Book Award Books, Armadillo Readers' Choice Awards.
An experienced speaker, Nancy has presented at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame, on panels for the Texas Library Association, National Council for Teachers of English, International Literacy Day, Dallas Book Festival and North Texas SCBWI.
Nancy provides free Teacher Guides and projects for all her books and does author visits in person and by Skype through Authors and More.
